A public safety organization may not solicit contributions from persons in Texas unless the organization registers with the Office of the Secretary of State under the provisions of §1803.051(a) of the Texas Occupations Code.
A public safety solicitor may not begin solicitations for a public safety organization unless the public safety solicitor has registered with the Office of the Secretary of State under the provisions of § 1803.051(b) of the Texas Occupations Code.
A commercial telephone solicitor who solicits contributions for a charitable organization that is registered with the Attorney General’s Office for a charitable purpose relating to law enforcement must file a $50,000 surety bond with the Office of the Secretary of State under the provisions of the Texas Revised Civil Statutes, Art. 9023e, §5.
