To be commissioned as an online notary public, you must currently be commissioned as a notary in Texas. In addition, you will need to first obtain a verifiable X.509 compliant digital certificate,
which includes your electronic signature. You will also need to provide a copy of your electronic seal.

Before continuing with the application process, please make sure you have the following information available:

  • Verifiable X.509 compliant digital certificate
  • Image of your electronic seal in an acceptable file format (JPEG, BMP, PNG, or TIF)
  • Credit Card to pay online commission application fee of $50.00 plus a 2.70% processing fee of $1.35
  • Valid email address for correspondence
